2020 feels like it’s flying by, but we kicked off the second half of the year with Sarah and Connor’s July wedding and it reminded us how nice it is to slow down and enjoy the moment. With these two, it’s easy to see how undeniably in love they are and their focus on enjoying the people they’re with is evident throughout their answers and how they approached their big day. A GORGEOUS day filled with the sweetest moments and people – we’re especially fond of the bridal reveal with Sarah’s bridesmaids in the hall – we have no doubt you’re going to be swooning over all of their pictures. Keep reading below to see the goodness and hear about their competitive spirit, sentimental additions, and how they stayed grounded in the chaos of planning.

The Love Story

We met during our company bowling league! I invited Connor out to drinks after bowling one night and that same night he bought us rodeo tickets to Chase Rice! That Saturday we had our first date at Paesano’s on the river walk and the rest is history from there! We are known as the most competitive couple because we both played college sports and both of us hate losing! Definitely keeps things fun around the house haha.

Why They Chose The Chandelier

The venue is absolutely beautiful!! We were looking for somewhere that held 300 people and we really loved the open air chapel especially for a summer wedding in Texas! The staff was always quick to respond and great to work with!

Memorable Moment

For us it was saying “I do” and finally getting to walk out of the chapel as Mr. and Mrs. Roy! We had been engaged for over a year and having to deal with all the covid hurdles leading up to the wedding it was amazing to finally be pronounced as husband and wife because that is what our day was all about!

Their Best Advice

I think my biggest piece of advice is throughout the whole wedding process there are so many tedious decisions that can be easy to get wrapped up in, but at the end of the day it is all about you marrying the love of your life and nothing else matters! Your decorations will be beautiful, your closest family and friends will be there, and everything will happen! Just grounding yourself when things get hectic was a huge help for me.

Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue

I really loved my something old, new, borrowed, and blue! I wore my grandma’s old watch, got some new shoes and earrings, borrowed my mom’s engagement diamond and turned it into a necklace, and Connor’s mom (mother of the groom) had a garter made for me out of some of the lace they took off my dress with a blue ribbon and her grandma’s engagement ring tied in the blue ribbon. So many special sentimental items!

Surrounded by Support

There were so many great things about the day and too many to name! All of my vendors were amazing. Would especially like to call out our wedding planner Michelle from Haute Weddings, photographer Abi from Cupcake Photography, and videographer Garrett from Little Lens Film Company. They were so helpful throughout the day and captured everything beautifully! Would also like to thank our DJ. Our band backed out the Wednesday before the wedding and we were able to hire our DJ who came in and was ready to work and did an amazing job! The dance floor was packed all night long! I always said as long as the guests have fun I would be happy and having all of my favorite people in one place full of laughter and dancing was truly a blessing! Connor and I are so blessed to be surrounded by such a great support system!

When we were going through Sarah and Connor’s wedding album, Sarah’s comment that they kept their biggest focus on the fact that it’s all about marrying the love of your life kept coming to mind. Don’t get us wrong – their entire day was beautiful, the dance floor photos were full of energy, and the little details they included were picture perfect – but the photos of them together? They are so very special. They kissed and dipped and chilled on the swing and frolicked through the grass. They truly looked like they were just enjoying one another so much throughout every single moment. Sarah said it best – there are so many tedious aspects of wedding planning, but getting married? That’s the best part.
