The Love Story
Jason and I met in somewhat of an unconventional way. I traveled to my home town for Christmas in 2018. I was swiping on the Bumble app while sitting at home and came across this really cute guy, so of course I swiped right. Obviously the rest was history ;) We ended up meeting for our first date at a local Mexican food restaurant, and we had the best time. We both knew this was a different connection than what we had experienced in the past. We started dating in February 2019, right before I graduated with my Master’s in May of 2019 from Texas State. After that I moved to San Antonio, and a few months later Jason joined me out there and we bought our first house together in January of 2022. He proposed in Maine on our summer vacation next to a beautiful lighthouse in June of 2022!

Why The Chandelier?
The Chandelier was honestly the only wedding venue we toured. When searching online, we knew we were interested in a beautiful chapel to be married in with a reception hall on property. When touring the Chandelier we were instantly drawn to how beautiful it was, it was everything we were looking for and it was such a great choice. The best part of being a Chandelier Couple was getting to experience the pure magic of this place on our wedding day. From taking my bridal photos there, to experiencing our wedding day events there, it was so special. Taking our wedding day photos at the Chandelier was SO surreal. We loved the amazing scenery that we were lucky enough to have as our backdrop for our wedding photos, and we will forever get to look back on these and relive all the moments. It is truly such a special place!

Most Memorable Moment
As far as the wedding day, there are so many amazing moments that come to mind when I think back on this day. One of the most special and memorable moments was when we did our “first touch”, and read our vows to each other. It was only us and our photographer. No distractions and nobody listening, so it was a time for us to truly pour our hearts out to one another. We couldn’t see each other, but having our backs to each other and holding hands while reading our vows to one another was something that I will never forget. It was so special and I recommend everyone to do a “first touch” or “first look” on their wedding day.

Advice from The Bride
I think the best piece of advice I can give to future brides is to just try your best to take in every moment. From bridal showers, bachelorette parties, cake tastings, try your best to live in the moment and document those moments. They all go by so fast! Everyone told me this, but personally I don’t think I fully understood it until living it. Also on your wedding day, just remember that you planned this day to the best of your abilities and it will all work out like it’s supposed to. Even if there are a few minor things that end up going wrong or something is forgotten (this happened to us), it will all be perfect. Focus on the main reason why you are all there, and that main reason is to marry the love of your life and to become one with your new husband! Don’t sweat the small stuff because it will be the best day of your life and everything you dreamed of so enjoy it to the fullest.

Favorite Details
Planning a wedding can definitely be stressful, especially the closer you get to the big day. I think some of my favorite moments were finding my wedding dress and all of the accessories that go along with it. Also the things you can do together are so fun to plan and experience like the cake tastings and trying different foods with caterers.

One detail that we really loved from our wedding day was having a phone guest book that we rented from Voice Book TX. Instead of having a wedding book for guests to sign, we thought it would be neat to have the phone for guests to pick up and leave voicemails on that we will forever get to listen to. It was so fun and sweet listening to the many messages left by some of our family and friends that we will forever be able to cherish. I highly recommend doing something like this on your wedding day!

Special Shoutouts
There is so much we could share here, but I think it’s important to shout out our amazing photographer and videographer. Without them, our day truly would not have been the same. Angie Nobles (photographer) and Henry Salinas (videographer) are some of the sweetest people we worked with throughout this wedding planning process. Getting to see some of the sneak peeks from our wedding day has been so exciting. We have been totally blown away by their amazing work and how well they captured our day that was so special to us. Both made sure we were comfortable throughout the wedding day, and they captured so many special moments that we will forever get to cherish, and for that we are SO thankful for the both of them. We definitely recommend booking them for your big day!
