Sometimes in the midst of a crisis (or in Curtis and Taylor’s story, a pandemic) a fairytale ending occurs. The one good thing that could come out of a pandemic… love! Taylor was about move back home but was delayed due to COVID, and that is when she met Curtis through a mutual friend. They knew from the start they had something special and it was the beginning of an amazing adventure! From her gorgeous dress, beautiful flowers and amazing decor details, this day was picture perfect!
The Love Story
Curtis and I met in Corpus Christi while I was on a work assignment. We had mutual friends that introduced us at a charity event in the Spring of 2020. I was supposed to be moving back to Houston in April of 2020, but COVID locked us down and my move got delayed. Curtis and I spent a lot of time together during the pandemic lockdowns since there was not much to do. We knew pretty quickly that our love was something special and we started making plans for the future. You could say that our relationship is the only good thing to come from the COVID 19 pandemic :).
Why They Choose The Chandelier
I have been familiar with the Chandelier since the early days of it being built. The beautiful venue has captivated me since day 1 and I have always known that I wanted to be married there. New Braunfels is also a very special place to me and my family as it is my mother’s hometown. Throw in the added bonus that the owners of the venue were childhood friends of my mothers, and you have the perfect spot to choose to get married.
The most memorable moment was when the doors opened to the chapel, and I looked around at all my friends and family and a wave of emotion took over me when I realized how much love we were surrounded with that day. It was truly special to realize that all these people took time out of their Saturday to be there with us to celebrate. Marriage is truly a season of gratitude and reflection on all the incredible friends and family that are a part of your lives.
Their Best Advice
There is so much preparation and planning that goes into what seems like a fleeting moment. The actual ceremony and reception went by so quickly, it was hard to really take it all in. My husband and I decided to have a sweetheart table in the middle of the hall with just the two of us. I think this was one of the best decisions because it gave us a few minutes to just sit together and admire all of the beautiful decorations and look around at all of the friends and family that came to celebrate. It also gave us a few minutes to talk to each other about how we were feeling and share in our excitement.
All Together Now
The last-minute details were fun to pull together- I spent a lot of money on Etsy buying wedding and bar signs, putting together toiletry trays for the bathrooms, bridesmaid gifts, family gifts, a sign for my dog to wear down the aisle
The wedding would not have been as beautiful and well executed if it weren’t for Barbie Foerster. She is a rockstar when it comes to helping you make decisions and helping your ideas come to life. I am so thankful we had her throughout the process to help guide us. It also helps that she knows the venue like the back of her hand!
Curtis and Taylor’s love story is a perfect example on how sometimes timing is everything! We are still obsessing over the floral and all the detail that went into coordinating this amazing day! Also… a white comfy set to end the night is genius!!
